Starting Out with Infinty, the Game.

Hi, my names Pete and this is my first in a series of posts about starting out with Infinity the Game.

I've been interested/been involved in wargaming, painting and modelling from a young age. This was exclusively within the games systems of Games Workshop including; Warhammer 40k/Fantasy, Epic, Warmaster, Necromunda, Gorkamorka, Battlefleet Gothic and Blood Bowl.

However......

I have found, in my opinion, as I've matured the Games Workshop titles and range have not. This isn't a fault of theirs as they're obviously still trying to appeal to the age group that I was when I first started. Its just a shame they couldn't do something to try and maintain their fan base of older gamers.

For me, even though I don't collect them, the Dark Angels latest releases were the final nail in the coffin. They knocked me sick. It just seemed like lazy and unimaginative design work. Don't get me wrong I couldn't do what GW's designers do, but its just not to my taste.

Infinity on the other hand.........

Beautiful miniatures, lots of game specific scenery, nice background from what I've seen on the internet, and more dynamic gameplay. That's all I know at the moment. I'll be picking up the core rules later this week so I'll do an "unboxing" post when I do.
